Roberta Crowell Barbalace
Instructor / Consultant
Roberta Crowell Barbalace has 16 years experience providing DOT, OSHA and EPA related teaching and training and an additional 8 years of teaching college chemistry and related courses. Ms Barbalace holds a class A CDL. She presently teaches Environmental Science and Introduction to college chemistry, at Southern Maine Community College, where she also teaches environmental law and compliance, pollution control and hazardous waste management.
As Regional Transportation Manager for Waste Management Corporation. Ms Barbalace managed regional transportation fleets and provided training to drivers and supervisors throughout the USA. In addition, Ms Barbalace was a faculty member in the Department of Environmental Technologies at RioHondo College in Whittier California. She was an active member of the California Waste Association and an appointed member of California Trucking Association Environmental Affairs Committee. She was a DOT consultant for Occupational Safety Training (OST) in Orange County, CA and a contract consultant for J. J. Keller in 2000.
Ms Barbalace holds a BS from Rutgers University in Natural Sciences (Biology Major and double minor in Chemistry and German), an MS from Miami University (Ohio) with a concentration in Plant Physiology and Genetics, and an MS from Colorado State University with a concentration in Animal Breeding and Genetics. She spent eight years as a full time college professor teaching biology, chemistry, agriculture and environmental science courses. As a professor she continued graduate courses at University of Colorado, Black Hills State College and Virginia Polytechnic Institute. She was elected to International Who's Who of Professional Management and the Honorary Agricultural Society Gamma Sigma Delta. She was a guest lecturer at Western Region.
